WINTER NAMM SHOW '08 REPORT

Once again, ENGL was present at the annual NAMM show as the world's top music technology companies showcased their best and brightest in sunny Anaheim, CA. (Always a pleasure for those of us from colder climates!)

Our team, led by Michael Berger (Artist Relations and Product Manager) and Amber Calhoun-Berger (Press Coordinator and ENGL Assistant/USA) were in great spirits as they organized the uprgaded booth which included more size and a new design. As always it takes months to get this show ready and it was great working hand in hand with Christian and Martina Schlossarek from the German-based sales and marketing headquarters.

It was clear to all early on this years show would top the excitement ENGL brought last year.

New and seasoned dealers stormed the 10 by 20 booth to spread the good news about ENGL and our North American distributor, Tyme Rogers (Velvet Distribution), was on hand to meet with and answer questions from both current and potential dealers. ENGL gear has been selling great in the US and Canada and both dealers and customers are certainly happy.

It was also a pleasure to see our worldwide dealers and buisness partners at our Booth in Hall E. Thank you for coming!

The tremendous increase of new Endorsees in 2007 gave us the opportunity to schedule some interesting signing sessions. Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Marty Friedman, Vinnie Moore (UFO) , Jeff Loomis (Nevermore) signed on various days.

Highlights included Steve Morse playing at the booth. World class, jaw- dropping soloing drew people to the ENGL booth. Marty Friedman and Vinnie Moore appeared at the same time and had a blast answering questions from their passionate fans. Visitors such as Warren di Martini (Ratt) and Steve Lukather (Toto) also stopped by during Steve’s signing. It felt like a little party for a while and it got quite tight on space in our hallway.

Jeff Loomis signed on Saturday and was happy to be a new member of the Engl family.

Bob Kulick (Kiss, Meatloaf) swung by to say „hi.“ Bob swears by ENGL amps and is one of our best supporters.

Chris Impellitteri interupted his recording sessions to come for a visit. Also, Michael Bradford (Dave Stewart band), returning from Liverpool, UK, stopped by. Newcomer David Alvarez (Shaloin Temple of Boom) was happy to see the ENGL team.

Other notable booth visitors included Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake /Thin Lizzy/ Ted Nugent). Tim Ripper“ Owens (Beyond Fear, Judas Priest) and Rudy Sarzo (Dio/Whitesnake/Ozzy Osbourne),

Another higlight throughout the show was the presence of Doug Rappoport (Edgar Winter). Doug is an outstanding guitar player that helped ENGL demonstrate product at the booth.

ENGL also took part at the Sabian Show at the Sheraton Ballroom on Friday night. We provided 2 Stacks and several amps for Tony Rombola (Another Animal & Godsmack) as well as Lee Richards (Another Animal). The boys had nothing but good things to report about the amazing sounds from the Powerball. Other Artist that night were Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilly Peppers) and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple).

Once again, the 2008 Namm show was a big success for all in the ENGL family. We enjoyed the company of great attendeess, made new fans and friends and reunited with old ones.

Thanks to the whole ENGL team. We can’t wait to be a part of this amazing show in 2009.

See you soon.
